About Roots

The three young musicians of Roots were brought together during their jazz studies at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and they soon started to play together venturing into the world of their own interpretations of jazz standards and originals by famous composers such as Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk, Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn and tunes made famous by artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday,.. Roots engages their audiences by immersing them into their warm and vibrant acoustic sound and lyrical interplay.

This vibrant easy listening trio, consists of these three wonderful musicians:
Niccolò Angioni – trumpet, flügelhorn
Emiliano Roca – guitar
Lidija Strika – double bass
