About Merel

With Merel you can say that music has been one of her basic qualities already at an early age. She started singing early in primary school and the rest of the family always loved to sing along with her. She started in the children’s choir and since then she has become an integral part of the stage. She played in the musical Joseph, has participated in Dutch television shows as ‘Singing with the Stars’ and even the Junior Song Contest. After graduating from high school, she started at the Pop Academy and passed with flying colors for singing at the Conservatory.

Merel likes to play with different musicians and on different occasions such as weddings, business events, birthdays and private occasions. But what she considers one of the most beautiful things to do, is performing in an intimate setting such as a living room concert or a wedding, when she has her audience very close to her.

‘I think it is very special that I can make my musical contribution on such a special day. I hope to make the occasion and the atmosphere even more beautiful and special with the songs I sing, and it is always an honor to be able to sing at and be part of somebody’s wedding day.”

In addition to beautiful intimate and musical moments, Merel also has a great voice and appearance to get the party or reception started. For example with a small band setting or with the DJ live act FloorJaxx. The styles pop, soul, R&B and Jazz suit her well and she knows how to give her own twist to them. She truly is an experienced and versatile singer with a great voice!
