Known for his versatility and professionalism, Sjoerd is a singer, performer, and musician through and through: sensitive, energetic, and powerful. His singing, musicality, and performances guarantee quality, as evidenced by his high demand for events, festivals, and weddings.

Sjoerd Arends was born on January 25, 1987, in Groningen. From a young age, he frequently performed on stage, making his debut at seven years old in the children’s musical ‘Fantasco’ at the Stadsschouwburg Groningen. In 1998, he represented Groningen in the national finals of the VARA Children’s Song Festival on Nederland 3. Since then, singing and performing have never left him. During his youth, he played (lead) roles in various family productions, including ‘Doornroosje’s Duizendjarige Droom’ and ‘Aladdin en de Wonderlamp’.

His passion for music was further ignited during his high school years. With a broad interest in genres such as soul, funk, hip-hop, R&B, rock, and pop, he began singing and playing in bands and took his first singing lessons. Sjoerd studied vocals at the Pop Academy, ArtEZ Conservatorium in Enschede. He sang in various bands and performed on major stages such as AFAS Live, Lowlands, Het Concertgebouw, and Tivoli. He also enjoys venturing into theater. For instance, he was a soloist in theater productions, sang in the dinner show ‘Grandeur’ at Studio 21 in Hilversum, and provided backing vocals for various artists. In addition to his performances in various projects, he writes his own music and works as a vocal coach.

Sjoerd has since developed into a versatile singer. Thanks to his wide range of talents, he is a highly sought-after entertainer. Sjoerd adapts well as a singer, performer, and musician in various settings. Whether it’s an intimate ceremony or a large event or festival: he always brings sensitivity, soul, and authenticity. He performs solo as a pianist and/or guitarist, as a duo or trio with additional musicians, or with a full band, fully embracing the role of performer and entertainer. With enthusiasm and energy, he enhances various moments during a wedding or event, showcasing his qualities as a singer and interpreter. Sjoerd is a social and spontaneous personality who brings much passion and emotion to his performances.
